Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of understanding Islamic values in managing the mental dynamics of final-year students within the Islamic Religious Education study program at UIN Madura, who face significant academic and psychological burdens. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research highlights the phenomenon of mental health disorders experienced by approximately 39% of students during the preparation of their final assignments. These issues are triggered by internal pressures, such as the fear of failure and mental exhaustion, as well as external pressures like social expectations. The findings demonstrate that Islamic values—including patience, tawakkal (reliance on God), sincerity, and gratitude—are not merely cognitive knowledge but function as a crucial religious coping strategy for maintaining emotional stability. Spiritual practices such as prayer and dhikr are proven to be means of emotional regulation that provide inner peace and strengthen the psychological resilience of students when facing the challenges of revisions and future uncertainties. In conclusion, the holistic internalization of Islamic values has significant implications as a protective factor that helps students remain optimistic and adaptive in fulfilling their academic requirements.
